H. K. Firodia Memorial Lecture Series - 2007
Every Year Symbiosis Institute of
International Business organizes the “H.K.Firodia
Memorial Lecture Series” in memory of the late Mr. H.K.
Firodia, Founder, Kinetic Group and the first Chairman of SIIB
Advisory Committee. The series acts as a platform for
interaction between Industry leaders and the students and
helps the students to gain the much needed industry insights.
The H.K. Firodia Memorial Lecture Series has been arranged
every year since 1996 and many eminent speakers have
participated in the same.
This year the “H.K. firodia Memorial
Lecture Series” was scheduled on Friday,
7th September 2007 between 9:30 a.m. and 6:00 pm during
which various HR leaders expressed their views on different facets
of the theme. “HR
Challenges—The Changing Spectrum” at the Auditorium,
Symbiosis InfoTech Campus, Hinjewadi, Pune.

Mr. Sanjay Muthal President—HR, Nicholas
Piramal
Mr. Sanjay Muthal gave his valuable views
on how today businesses are judged on only two parameters,
quality of services and goods being offered and the price at
which they are available. Human Resource Managers, he said,
would have to keep up with these changes in organizational
structures. |

He spoke about the various experiences he had in
his organization with relation to establishing various standards
that resulted in increase in profitability. He also mentioned
the importance of use of Gallop testing to measuring and
increasing efficiency. |

She spoke about the Micro concepts of
HR. She said that any Manager was to look at himself in 3
aspects: "Me as a person, Me as a professional and Me as a
part of an organization" and then explained these various
aspects.

Mr. Choudhary spoke about how the era of mass
production circa 1970 was going to resurge in India.

presentation on Talent Management and its importance. It
spanned the entire scope of Talent Management right from its
significance to methods of identifying talent.
