Cultural Events

SIIB believes that  the students require breaks especially after a long day's hard work and toil. In line with such intentions, a number of cultural events are organized at regular intervals, giving the students an opportunity to display their varied interests and talents, hence also contributing to the overall personality development of the students. Some of the events that have been organized so far are:

AARAMBH 2008

The great  I Ching once said…

Before the beginning of great brilliance, there must be chaos. Before a brilliant person begins something great, they must look foolish in the crowd. The astounding crowd, the magnificent décor, the lasers… and what not…a huge noise where we began.

1600 hrs, 5th July, 08... The siibians went on captured the stage. The roaring auditorium was the arena and there we defined “ARAMBH”…the beginning. This is a fest enrolled by the students of symbiosis in welcome of their seniors. The concept is ensnared by one force i.e. IMAGINATION…

“Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will.”

fOUNDATION DAY 2008

I arise from dreams of the

In the first sweet sleep of night

When the winds are breathing low,

And the stars are shinning bright

The greatest of the deals take birth with an aroma of a dream. SIIB (erstwhile SIFT) was established from one such dream of Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, the founder director, with a mission to create global leaders.

SIIB has completed 16 glorious years in the field of management education.

To mark this successful journey, SIIB celebrated the foundation day on July 10, 2008.

ONAM DAY CELEBRATIONS

Onam is a unique festival celebrated by people of all religions and castes. Thus, for the malayali student community of SIC, the 12th of September 2008 was a day that evoked intense memories of their native place thousands of miles away. When they decided to recreate a Kerala in Pune soil, the multicultural SIC campus offered the perfect stage. In fact, with the last few years, Onam celebrations has found its place in the SIC events calendarThe celebrations were planned and organized by a bunch of enthusiastic students of SIC.  The preparations started the night before when the layouts of the floral designs were made on the atrium floor where the SIIB team focused
on the story behind the festival and the values it upholds and portrayed the legend of Mahabali and Vamana. Another highlight of the celebration was the feast, sadya, with the exotic Kerala dishes and served in the true traditional manner on a plantain leaf. For the people tasting it for the first time, the sadya opened a whole new world of taste. It became an amazing experience and the students themselves were serving to their friends. The hard task of bidding farewell for a day full of fun and celebration was lightened by the hearty laughs offered by "Godfather", one of the most successful comedies ever in Malayalam (the movie was remade into "Hulchul").

SARASWATI PUJA

On 8th Oct 2008, Sarawati Pooja was held in library, a place which by itself is embraced by the goddess. Every year this pooja is organized to worship "Saraswati", goddess of knowledge and wisdom, during the period of "Navratris". In real sense, the purpose of pooja wasn't only to worship the goddess but also the media through which the goddess blesses us all i.e. the books. Everyone in SIC was cordially invited to attend this pooja. The day before the auspicious day was characterized by decorating the library and SIIB academic block with flowers and rangoli. Director Dr. Rajani Gupte lighted the lamps and performed the pooja.

A small pooja was also held in the computer lab. In  this era of modernization besides books, PC and Net has also become the source of knowledge, so how that place can be forgotten!!
