ABOUT SIIB
The Symbiosis Institute of International Business was founded in 1992 as Symbiosis Institute of Foreign Trade (SIFT). As the global business world expanded tremendously, the founders felt the need to pro-actively transform the institute from one of foreign trade to an all-encompassing ‘International Business’ and hence SIFT metamorphosed into Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB). It was not only the name of the institute that underwent a change but also its aim which became wider to cover global aspects as it moved to a brand-new campus equipped with state-of-the- art infrastructure.
The pioneering work in commencing focused MBA programmes in International Business (1992), Agri-business Management (2004), and Sustainability Management (formerly Energy & Environment, 2009) has been lauded by industry. This foresight has proved very valuable for organizations that seek global managers in diverse functional areas. SIIB therefore has a strong track record of excellent placements.
Today, SIIB is a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) (SIU) and is one of the highly acclaimed business schools in the country. It has been recognized as a B- School that combines an excellent academic foundation with a strong leadership perspective. In an increasingly globalized world, SIIB is ahead of the curve.
About the Conference
SIIB International Model United Nations 2026 (SIIB MUN) is a student-driven academic event to be hosted by the Symbiosis Institute of International Business, Pune. Our conference will bring together inquisitive minds from a variety of academic backgrounds to simulate the workings of global organizations and government bodies. Through immersive committee sessions and engaging dialogue, students develop a deeper understanding of diplomacy, negotiation, and contemporary international issues.
At SIIB MUN, participants will get the opportunity to represent countries, organizations, or the press. They will engage in rigorous debate, draft policy resolutions, and experience the challenges and rewards of international cooperation. The conference is designed to be welcoming and intellectually stimulating, making it ideal for both newcomers and experienced Model UN participants. Through collaboration, research, and critical thinking, SIIB MUN aims to spark a passion for global affairs while building essential skills in communication and leadership.
In addition to rigorous committee sessions, SIIB MUN 2026 offers a unique opportunity to unwind and immerse yourself in Ignisense, our premier cultural fest. Registration includes complimentary access to two nights of music, dance, and celebration, making your Model UN journey unforgettable.
