Synopsis:
On the 8th of July 2021, the new batch of 2021-23 attended a session by Mr. Manshul Nagpal. The topic for the session was ‘How to build a career on CPG Companies’.
Mr. Manshul spoke about the different things he had learned during his tenure at CPG companies. He also emphasized the significance of building good relationships, being inquisitive and curious which would help one adapt to a new environment very easily.
Mr. Manshul explained the importance of management training days and how those learnings play a major role in our corporate world. He mentioned the different ways one could succeed and build a career in CPG companies- owning the outcome, fixing the basics, sticking to your values, owning your development. He also highlighted that every time it is not important to be different from everyone, sometimes you have to first blend in and camouflage.
He also discussed how crucial it is to have a sense of ownership, shared leadership, the inclusion of diverse views, and celebrating your team’s victories which help make a person a good leader. He emphasized the importance of following our passions, adjusting, upskilling and re-skilling. He advised the students to step out of their comfort zone and build a good network.
