On the 21st and 22nd of August 2024, the Library Department of SIIB successfully conducted a two-day book exhibition at the SIIB Foyer. The event commenced with an inauguration ceremony featuring the lighting of the lamp in memory and respect for the Father of Library Science, Padmashri Prof. Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan. The inauguration was graced by the presence of Dr. Alka Maurya, Director SIIB, along with faculty members and administrative Staff, including the library team, who also browsed through the extensive collection of books on display. During the exhibition, a diverse array of books was displayed across various subject areas such as Management, Marketing, International Business, Financial Accounting, Financial Management, Energy Environment and Agricultural Business, from publishers such as Cengage, Pearson, Oxford University Press, Taylor & Francis, and Bloomsbury.
The event attracted an enthusiastic audience of students and faculty members who explored the comprehensive collection on display. The primary objective of the book exhibition was to promote a culture of reading within the SIIB community, providing access to a diverse range of reading materials catering to both academic and personal interests.
Overall, the two-day event was a remarkable success, with participants expressing admiration for the diverse and thoughtfully curated selection of books. The Library Department’s dedication was widely applauded for cultivating an atmosphere of intellectual curiosity and active participation.
