The SIIB Leadership Series 2024, held on August 30, 2024, was a landmark event embodying the vision for India’s journey from “Vikassheel to Viksit Bharat @2047.” The event was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Vijay Gokhale, Ex-Foreign Secretary of India, who provided valuable insights into India’s global strategic imperatives. Guest of Honour Ms. Anjali Pandey, Chief Operating Officer of Cummins India, shared her inspiring reflections on diversity, sustainability, and leadership, contributing significantly to the discourse on India’s future. The event was further enriched by the presence of Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro-Chancellor, SIU & Principal Director, Symbiosis Society, whose insightful words left a lasting impact on the audience. Dr. Prakash Rao, Dy. Director, SIIB, presented vote of thanks for the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour for guiding students with their words of wisdom. A special thanks were also extended to Prof. (Dr.) Alka Maurya, Director, SIIB for her steadfast support and guidance throughout the planning and execution phases.
Spearheaded by Dr. Chetan Prabhu, faculty of Supply Chain Management and Dr. Rishi S. Kapal, faculty of HR & Marketing, the event brought together prominent leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities India will face as it approaches its centenary of independence. Their leadership, along with the tireless efforts of the college staff and administration, ensured the event’s remarkable success. The first panel, “Shaping the Future of India @2047: Economic, Technological, and Social Challenges,” featured thought leaders including Dr. Rishi S. Kapal, Mr. Anirban Banerjee, Mr. Sandeep Puri, and Mr. Tushir Malik. They addressed the innovations and reforms required to steer India toward becoming a developed nation. The second panel, “Diversity and Sustainability in Leadership: Empowering Change,” focused on inclusive leadership, with contributions from Dr. Chetan Prabhu, Mr. Lalit Pradhan, Ms. Preeti Ahuja, and Ms. Soma Ghosh, emphasizing the role of leadership in fostering growth and sustainability.
To conclude the event, Dr Vandana Mehta, faculty of Marketing, SIIB and Dr Suchita Jha, HoD Marketing Department, delivered heartfelt votes of thanks to each of our esteemed panelists and acknowledged the efforts of the staff and student team of leadership series in the successful execution of this event.
The Leadership Series 2024 proved to be a testament to the power of collaboration between students, faculty, and the administration. The discussions and insights shared will continue to inspire future leaders as they navigate the challenges and opportunities on India’s path to achieving “Viksit Bharat” by 2047.

The efforts of the organizing team, especially my peers and juniors, were commendable. Attending the SIIB Leadership Series 2024 was a remarkable experience. The panel discussions on India’s economic and social challenges opened my eyes to the complexity of the issues our country faces and how innovation and leadership can drive change. I was particularly struck by the insights shared on sustainability and inclusive growth, which are key themes in my field of study. Watching the event come together so seamlessly, thanks to the hard work of the student volunteer team, was inspiring. It was an amazing learning opportunity, not just from the panelists but also from seeing how such a large-scale event is executed. This experience has fueled my motivation to contribute more during my time here at SIIB.
