Synopsis:
On 5th February 2023, an online guest lecture was conducted on Building Relationships and Professional Networks by Mr Ajay Prakash Mishra, Coach APM, Communication Skills Consultant for the students of batch 2022-24. This session aimed to provide insights and guidance to students about the importance of network building, regular feedback, and seeking help from outside sources to increase their horizons.
Mr Mishra started the workshop by asking students about their upcoming roles and companies they were placed in for summer internships. He advised students on how to work during their internships and the importance of networking and regular feedback. He also emphasized the importance of offering more to the company than what they were hired for. Mr Mishra also talked about the value of reports during and after an internship.
Further, Mr Mishra highlighted the importance of seeking help from outside sources to increase one’s knowledge and intelligence. He stated that the more intelligent a person is, the more likely they are to seek help. Seeking help from outside sources can increase one’s horizon and provide a fresh perspective on problems and issues.
Post this, he focused on networking and its importance in today’s world. He drew attention to LinkedIn, highlighting its importance in building professional networks. He asked students to update and use LinkedIn regularly, just like other social media platforms. Mr Mishra also provided his LinkedIn handle link so that students could ask their doubts at any time.
