Academic Building

SIIB is located in the hub of the IT industry, Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, Pune. The SIIB campus is central to the dynamic IT environment. The major companies such as Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, etc. lend to the atmosphere. The campus is fully residential and provides excellent facilities to students. The buildings are aero-dynamically designed and use solar energy to fulfill 70% of its energy requirement making it the eco-friendliest campus.

Classrooms

Classrooms still remain the cornerstone for learning and development of students and as such have been equipped to ensure the process is efficient as well as interactive. Concepts are often explained through presentations, videos and live exercises which require students to think out of the box.

IT Facility

A fully Wi-Fi-enabled campus allows students to excel in today’s information age through advanced pedagogy like live lectures, experiential learning, video streaming, and online project. Also, it allows a smooth flow of information among different stack holders in the ecosystem.

Auditorium

SIIB has a state-of-the-art fully air-conditioned auditorium with the capacity to hold more than 300 people at a time. The auditorium is used on regular basis to host regional and national-level events and seminars. The auditorium is also used to host the cultural events of the campus.

Students can avail food services in the mess as well as the cafeteria which provides a comfortable seating arrangement to the students as well as a spacious ambience. An all-day cafeteria caters to the diverse taste buds on campus.

Health Centre

A health care center managed by the Symbiosis Centre for Health Care (SCHC) is an in-house Health Care Centre exclusive to the staffs and students of Symbiosis. The SIHS has a team of specialist doctors who conduct the (compulsory) annual health check-up. Every student is insured under the Mediclaim and Road Traffic Accident Policy. The Centre thus provides preventive, promotive as well as curative health care services, with a view to ensure the positive health of all members of the Symbiosis family.

Swimming Pool

Nothing is better than a swimming pool to ward off the daily mental exertion. Keeping this in mind, SIIB also provides the swimming pool to its student. The water quality of pool is regularly monitored. Besides that, we also have a trainer available on campus to teach swimming to students free of cost.

General Rules

  • While entering the library users should keep their personal belongings like textbooks, issued books, personal copies, magazines, newspaper, laptop bags etc. on the bag racks. Users can carry their laptops in reading areas. Users are responsible for all personal possessions including wallets, mobiles etc.

  • Always carry your identity card when you visit library, failing so may forbid from entering the library.

  • Use of mobile inside the library is prohibited.

  • Books and other materials taken for reference should not be re-shelved. The readers should leave the material on the table. Remember that book misplace is book lost.

  • Readers should not mark / tear/misuse/damage the reading material/library property. If found so, he/she will be responsible to replace/pay full value for the loss and may lead to debar from library.

  • The Librarian has the power to cancel the membership or refuse the entry/admission of any member who violate the rules and regulations of the Library or involve in any kind of misconduct.

  • Monday to Saturday – 8.30 am to 8.30 pm.

  • Sunday – 10.00 am to 5.00 pm

  • Issue & Return timings – Monday to Saturday: 9.00 am to 5.30 pm

  • Sunday: No Issue & Return

  • On Govt. Holidays and festivals Library remain closed on prior notice.

Membership Details

The students, faculty members and staff members of the SIIB are entitled to become the member of the library.

  • Every user of the Library will get 4 Cards, 3 for issuing books and 1 for issuing back dated issue of the periodical.

  • These Library cards are non-transferable.

  • The teaching and the non-teaching staff are required to sign in the issue register while issuing or returning the issues of the periodicals.

  • While entering in the library and leaving the library, the users are required to do the entry in the PC provided at the entrance of the Library through KOHA In/ Out system.

  • If a user is found with a library material not issued to him/ her, strict action will be taken.

  • Books / Periodicals are issued for a period of 7 days. Any book / Periodical returned after the due date is charged a fine of Rs.5 per day.

  • The users should not write or disfigure the library books/ periodicals and due care must be taken in due respect.

  • The member must check the physical condition of the book or else while returning the book he/ she will be charged to pay for the cost of the book.

  • The loss of borrower’s card must be intimated to the Librarian immediately and the user will be issued a duplicate card on payment of Rs.100. The Library staff will not be responsible for misuse of the lost library card of the member.

  • Photocopy facility: Material from Reference section may be photocopied by the students with the permission of the Librarian. Request for photocopying the entire book / Journal will not be entertained.

  • Use of the Library by the outsiders: Outsiders are not permitted to issue books outside the Library. They may be allowed to use the Reference section on payment of Rs.100/- per day. The Librarian has the discretionary powers to allow / refuse admission to an outsider to use the library and her/his decision shall be deemed final.

Circulation

All the users of the Library will get issue/ return facility from the ‘Circulation’ counter in the Library.

Current Awareness Service (CAS)

Library sends latest articles and news by email to all students, faculty and staff to update their current knowledge. Library informs about the New arrivals in the library. These services are being provided frequently by the Library.

Inter Library Loan (ILL)

The member of SIIB Library can borrow Books/ Journals/ CDs on their Library cards from the following institutes in the campus –

Students of SIIB, all teaching and non-teaching staff of Symbiosis Institutions and Members of the Symbiosis Society.

Over dues, as laid down hereunder, shall be charged from the students if they fail to return the book(s) on or before the deadline as indicated on the Due-Date-Slip in the book:

Rs.5.00 per book per day shall be charged

In case of loss of a book(s), the member will either have to replace the same or pay the current value of the book.

Students can give their recommendations through the Web OPAC. Login with your PRN fill the form and submit it. Or email at library@siib.ac.in

You can access the database through the login credentials of SIU Central library Gateway Portal which is mentioned on the website under the E-Resources. The login credentials are issued to all the registered students of SIIB and those who don’t know the credentials can contact the librarian. Only Symbiosis students and faculty members can access these databases through their own login credentials.
