On the occasion of the 133rd Birth Anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, revered as the Father of Library Science and commemorated across the nation as National Librarian’s Day, the Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB), Pune, organized a Book Exhibition on 26th August 2025 at the MDP Room. The inauguration was graced by the presence of Dr. Alka Maurya, Director SIIB; Prof. Dipen Paul, Deputy Director SIIB; Mr. Yogesh Kalbhor, Administrative Officer SIIB; and CA. Madhura Ranade, faculty of Finance, SIIB, along with other esteemed faculty members, administrative staff, and the library team, explored the curated collection of academic resources on display. This year’s exhibition placed particular emphasis on existing editions of MBA textbooks, previously recommended by subject experts in disciplines including Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Statistics, Energy & Environment, and Agribusiness.
As part of this year’s celebration, students were offered the opportunity to receive these academic resources for free. Books were distributed on request basis, with each student entitled to the availability. The initiative aimed not only to promote a reading culture but also to encourage the reuse and redistribution of academic materials, thereby ensuring their accessibility to current cohorts in a sustainable and meaningful manner.
The exhibition witnessed an encouraging response, with participants acknowledging the relevance and utility of the collection. The event successfully reinforced the spirit of knowledge-sharing within the SIIB community while paying homage to Dr. Ranganathan’s enduring vision of libraries as inclusive spaces that foster continuous learning and intellectual growth.
