Management Development Programmes and Faculty Development Programmes
FDP on "Intellectual Property Rights and Laws of IP Protection"
An STLRC FDP on "Intellectual Property Rights and Laws of IP Protection" was conducted on 14th August 2025 (Thursday) at SIIB. The face-to-face FDP was facilitated by Dr. Anand Shindikar, Associate Professor and Head-IP Cell, Symbiosis Centre for Research and Innovation. The program enhanced participants’ understanding of the legal frameworks and practical applications of IPR in academic and business contexts.
MDP for DeHaat on Export Strategy: The Foundational Framework
SIIB launched a 16-hour Management Development Program (MDP) for DeHaat, a leading Agri-Business startup, on the theme "Export Strategy: The Foundational Framework", on 24th May 2025. The sessions provided participants with practical insights into global agri-export dynamics and strategies for building a strong export framework. Dr. Alka Maurya, Director SIIB, Prof. Sushant Malik, Assistant Professor, SIIB and Dr. Shefali Srivastava, Assistant Professor, SIIB, were the key resource persons for this MDP. The program was successfully concluded with the certificate ceremony on 8th August 2025.
Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Basics of SEM and AMOS Training
SIIB conducted a 2-day Faculty Development Programme through STLRC on 20th and 21st March 2025 at the SIIB IT Lab. The FDP was facilitated by Dr. Krishnamurthy Inumula, Associate Professor, and Dr. Monica Shukla, Assistant Professor, SIIB. The sessions focused on enhancing faculty knowledge of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using IBM AMOS. Around 25 participants engaged in practical, hands-on training, learning techniques for model building, interpretation, and application in academic research.
FDP on Source of Global Trade Statistics and Trade Data Analysis
A one-day online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled "Source of Global Trade Statistics and Trade Data Analysis" was jointly conducted by SIIB and STLRC on 20th December 2024 via Zoom. The FDP, led by Dr. Alka Maurya, Director, SIIB aimed to provide insights into global trade statistics, HS classification, and hands-on training using trade databases. Around 20 faculty members from the Faculty of Management, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Law participated in this FDP. Sessions included practical exercises on India’s and global trade statistics and concluded with an assignment analyzing trade data of a selected commodity. Participants who submitted the assignment received a Certificate of Completion. The FDP successfully enhanced participants' ability to analyze and interpret trade data.
FDP on Introduction to Qualitative Research through Nvivo
A one-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled "Introduction to Qualitative Research through NVivo" was jointly conducted by SIIB and STLRC on 13th December 2024 at the IT Lab, SIIB. The face-to-face session aimed to build foundational knowledge of qualitative research and familiarize participants with NVivo software. Dr. Suchita Jha, Assistant Professor, SIIB led the FDP, covering topics such as thematic analysis, sentiment analysis, word cloud creation, and auto coding. Around 25 faculty members from SIIB and the Faculty of Management at SIU participated in this FDP. The session included hands-on exercises and concluded with a mandatory assignment to assess learning. Participants who completed the assignment received a Certificate of Completion.
FDP on Geographical Indications
On 18th October 2024, SIIB conducted a Faculty Development Programme through Symbiosis Teaching and Learning Resource Centre (STLRC) on Geographical Indications, Copyrights and other Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The FDP was facilitated by Prof. Ganesh Hingmire, Founder of Great Mission Group Consultancy. The sessions covered the introduction to IPR in business, the significance of Geographical Indications (GIs), and their role in branding and trade. Prof. Ganesh Hingmire led discussions on successful GI-protected products and copyright laws, case studies, digital rights management, and the fundamentals of patents and their importance in business innovation.
FDP on ESG for Business
On 22nd March 2024, SIIB conducted a Faculty Development Programme through Symbiosis Teaching and Learning Resource Centre (STLRC) on Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) for Business, led by Mr. Vinay Kumar, Manager at KPMG India. Over two days, faculty members gained valuable insights into integrating ESG principles into business strategies.
