On 15th August 2025, SIIB, Pune, celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with pride and patriotic fervour at the Symbiosis Infotech Campus (SIC). The Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology (SCIT) hosted the celebrations, which commenced at 8:00 A.M. in the presence of faculty, staff, and students from across the three institutes.
On this momentous occasion, Dr. Dhanya Pramod, Director, SCIT, had the honour of hoisting the National Flag, filling the atmosphere with reverence and unity. The gathering collectively sang the National Anthem, their voices echoing with patriotism across the campus. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Alka Maurya, Director – SIIB, Pune, Dr. Netra Ganesh Neelam, Director – SCMHRD, andCol. S. K. Mishra, Campus Administrator, SIC, who shared the dais and joined the gathering in paying tribute to the nation.
Following the flag hoisting, Dr. Pramod addressed the audience, emphasising the significance of India’s independence and reminding everyone of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters. Col. Mishra also delivered an inspiring message, highlighting the responsibilities of today’s generation in upholding democratic values and contributing to the progress of the nation.
The event was also graced by respected Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Chancellor of Symbiosis International University, whose words added great depth and inspiration to the occasion. In his address, Dr. Mujumdar reflected on the values of freedom, unity, and service to society, urging students to embody these principles in their personal and professional lives.
The cultural programme that followed beautifully captured the spirit of the occasion. A soulful musical performance set the tone for the celebrations, evoking patriotic emotions and uniting the audience in the spirit of nationalism. This was followed by a vibrant dance performanceshowcasing India’s diverse cultural heritage, brimming with colour, rhythm, and energy. Together, the performances reflected the vibrancy, strength, and unity of the nation.
In a special gesture, a tribute was extended to the service staff of the Symbiosis Infotech Campus, acknowledging their dedication and tireless efforts in ensuring the safety, security, and smooth functioning of the institution. This heartfelt acknowledgement reinforced the message of respect and gratitude towards every member of the Symbiosis family.
The Independence Day celebration at SIC not only honoured the legacy of India’s struggle for freedom but also strengthened the bond among students, faculty, and staff as proud citizens of India, dedicated to carrying forward the ideals of liberty, equality, and responsibility.
