Organised by: SIIB, Pune

SIIB organized a two-day outbound learning and team-building program for the incoming Batch of 2025–2027 at Surya Shibir Resort on 5th and 6th June 2025. The aim was to foster camaraderie, break the ice, and set the tone for collaborative learning.

The journey commenced early on 5th June 2025, with students reaching the scenic resort campus by 9:00 AM. The event officially began with a high-energy Zumba session, which proved to be a crowd favourite—lifting spirits and setting an enthusiastic tone for the rest of the activities. Following this, the DSRW team conducted an engaging icebreaker activity, where students moved in concentric circles to music and quickly formed groups based on announced numbers when the music stopped. This activity helped students interact freely and ease into the new environment. Teams were then formed, each consisting of 13 members, to participate in group activities over the next two days.

Some of the most engaging and memorable moments of the outbound session came from the creative team-building activities. One such challenge was the Over-Under Ball Game, which tested coordination and teamwork as students passed a ball alternately in quick succession. Another exciting activity was the Alphabet Formation Challenge, where teams had to creatively form letters like A, Z, and C using only their bodies while staying physically connected—this required sharp thinking, synchronization, and collective effort. Among the most thrilling tasks was the Egg Drop Challenge, in which each team designed a protective contraption to prevent an egg from breaking during a drop aimed at a goalpost. This activity pushed students to brainstorm, experiment, and persevere, fostering resilience, creativity, and a strong sense of collaboration.

The day concluded on a high note with a lively evening of Dance, Singing, and Acting competitions. Every performance was met with enthusiastic cheers, reflecting the immense talent and camaraderie within the batch. These vibrant showcases not only entertained but also strengthened bonds among students, creating cherished memories for their MBA journey.

The second day began with a 6:00 AM trek, offering students breathtaking views of Mutha Lake and the surrounding greenery. This refreshing activity provided a serene way to connect with nature and bond as a group. Later in the morning, students participated in a Team Painting Challenge, where 12-member groups created artwork within a time constraint, channeling both creativity and teamwork. The activity emphasized time management and collaborative synergy. Students also visited a bird aviary, enjoying close encounters with beautiful birds—a tranquil and fitting close to an energetic two-day program.

The outbound session was a dynamic blend of fun, bonding, and learning. It enabled the incoming students to build meaningful connections, step out of their comfort zones, and develop essential interpersonal and teamwork skills. The activities successfully laid the foundation for the collaborative learning environment that SIIB nurtures throughout its academic journey.

Key Takeaways:

Every activity from the icebreakers to the egg drop and team painting—highlighted the importance of communication, coordination, and trust within a team. Whether it was forming alphabets using our bodies or designing a contraption to protect an egg, the trip pushed us to think creatively and problem-solve together. The informal setting allowed us to interact freely, bond with classmates, and form new friendships that go beyond the classroom. The cultural night showed us how diverse and talented our batch is, and how valuable it is to support and cheer for one another.”
